Welcome to our guide on the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS). This page provides essential information about the application process, requirements, and benefits of becoming an approved contractor under the ACS.
Supporting Documents
Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents
Along with your application form, you will need to submit the following documents:
- Proof of your company’s legal status (e.g., company registration documents)
- Evidence of your quality management system ie ISO 9001
- Staff training records and feed back
- Health and safety policies ie Lone working, manual handling etc
- Client feedback mechanisms
Some of the documents
- Letter from a recognised body which shows your company name and address
- VAT certificate
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Your company letterhead
- Copies of your Public liability and Employers Insurance certificate
- An up-to-date list of contracts held for the supply of security services
- An up-to-date staff list (employed and self-employed
Contracts
- An up-to-date list of contracts held for the supply of security services including for each contract the customer name, the address of each site/venue associated with the contract, service(s) provided, date contract commenced and the number of licensable staff associated with the contract
- At least two recent invoices for every area you are applying for ACS. ie Key holding, static guarding
Employees
- An up-to-date staff list (employed and self-employed) including full name, licence number or licence application number and employment status (employed or self-employed).

Vetting
- Are you vetting your guards before deployment on a contract for a minimum of three years and then checking for five years within 12 weeks?
- As part of right to work are you checking they are not banned from the country?
How long does it take?
It will take around six months for you to receive your acceptance letter from when the SIA sends you a letter accepting your application.
Once you have your acceptance letter you have six months to book an assessment.
